Hyderabad: Admissions to the 39 Telangana Minorities Residential (TMR) Schools in Hyderabad will be finalised on April 23 by draw of lots. About 10,000 applications were received for 8,000 seats.
The draw will be held from 10 am at 9 centres in the twin cities for admission into 21 girls and 18 boys schools. After the admissions are done, candidates would be given eight days to produce Aadhaar card, passport size photos, income certificate, bonafide and TC. Non-minority students should also submit the caste certificate, said B Shafiullah, Secretary, TMREIS.
He told presspersons here on Thursday that a record 86,000 applications were received for 31,000 seats in 204 TMR schools in the State. Of this, minority candidates account for 36,000. There were still some vacancies in girls’ schools and all leftover seats would be filled in the second phase of district level admission on April 24. The admission process would be completed by month end and classes would commence from June 12, Shafiullah said.
He said the government had issued a revised notification through TSPSC for filling up various posts in TMR schools. Buildings for opening additionally sanctioned 121 schools were identified and the tendering process for providing infrastructure facilities to these schools is completed.
