Officials told to work in sync to implement welfare schemes

Yadadri-Bhongir: District Collector Anitha Ramachandram has directed Revenue officials and Mandal Parishad Development Officers to work in coordination to impelement welfare schemes at the field level.

Collector along with Tahsildars, MPDOs, officials of Forest Department and Rural Water Supply, on Thursday, reviewed implementation of welfare schemes and development programmes taken up by the government.

She instructed officials concerned to follow rules and guidelines strictly while selecting beneficiaries for government schemes. Transparency should be ensured in implementation of the scheme by selecting beneficiaries through grama sabhas, he added.

Collector has also assured that precautions would be taken to prevent corruption and irregularities in implementation of various schemes.

Draft guidelines had been issued by the State government for single women pension scheme, she said and added that officials should get ready for implementation of the scheme from June 2.

She instructed officials to select divorcee and single woman, who were below poverty line, as beneficiaries for the scheme.

A team comprising Village Revenue Officer, Panchayat Secretary, Anganwadi workers, sarpanch and two village elders would finalise the beneficiaries by examining their financial and social conditions.

Joint Collector G Ravi, DRDA Project Director Venkat Rao, District Revenue Officer Mahender Reddy and others also attended the review meeting.
