Hyderabad: To facilitate hassle free travelling for tourists and general passengers in city buses, the City Region of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has introduced a Travel 24 Ticket.
This ticket enables passengers to travel extensively and provides an opportunity choose the timings for unlimited travel by boarding any bus for a span of 24 hours, officials said. The ticket will cost Rs 80 for ordinary services and Rs 160 for air-conditioned services.
The corporation has also increased the validity time of the ‘Travel As You Like’ (TAY) ticket recently, from the existing 12 hours to 24 hours to increase patronage. Every day, the corporation sells nearly 6,000 TAY tickets for ordinary buses and 100 tickets for air-conditioned services. By increasing the validity of the ticket, the corporation is expecting a rise in these figures.
The plan, officials say, is to sell 10,000 ordinary tickets and 200 a/c tickets per day. “In 2015, nearly 30 lakh tickets were sold, but in 2016 the sales have come down. With an aim to increase sales and to facilitate passengers, we have introduced the T 24 Ticket service” said Jeevan Prasad, deputy chief traffic manager, TSRTC Greater Hyderabad Zone.
