District Collector P.Venkatrami Reddy, however, clarified that construction of only 330 houses at Erravelly and 153 houses at Narasannapet, against the 600 grounded, had been completed as on date. The construction of the rest of the houses were in progress and nearing completion. “We are considering it a historic occasion since no government in Independent India has ever provided poor people with double-bedroom houses,” Venkatrami Reddy said.

Honouring the electoral promise of Telangana Rashtra Samithi, the Chief Minister had launched his dream project of providing double bedroom houses to poor in these two villages, and the scheme will soon cover the entire State.

Officials ensured that each house has five fruit-bearing plants. The construction of a massive function hall to accommodate over 1,000 people has also been completed, Reddy said, adding that the district administation had also taken up co-operative farming in these two villages, and are expecting record production of soybean this year.
