20 more villages in Sangareddy declared cashless

156 houses in these villages have been equipped with Aadhaar enabled payments.

Sangareddy: In addition to earlier declared 40 cashless villages in Sangareddy, the district administration has announced 20 more village as cashless villages here on Monday.

Joint Collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu told press persons that they have aimed to transform 100 villages in the district into cashless villagea by January 15 by extensively promoting digital transactions among all sections. Hothi-B, Madharam, Narsapur, Sukkalateerth, Mardi, Ratnapur, Venkatapur, Nagireddypally, Ananthasagar, Nyamatabad, Kasala,  Nagaram, Nagulapally, Narsapur, Vanampally, Venkatakistapur, Ranapur, Muktapur and Kodur were declared as cashless villages on Monday.

All the 156 houses in these villages have been equipped with Aadhaar enabled payments. Against the 6,637 families living, the Joint Collector said each and every family was involved in at least one cashless transaction since all the families were having at least one bank account.

District Panchyat Officer said that they have deployed one bank correspondent at each fair price shop to make sure all the transactions took place digitally. He said that they had ensured the payment of wages to daily labourers were also being given through Aadhaar enabled payments.
